Frank Dalene, former Easthampton Lions Club president, spoke to the Shelter Island Lions at Planet Bliss last week about the need for organ, eye and tissue donors, and about the New York State Donate Life Registry. He speaks from experience. His 21-year-old son died tragically in a car collision but his tissue donation has restored the eyesight of two Long Island residents and sparked a public awareness campaign about organ and tissue donation that has been taken up by several Lions Clubs in Suffolk County. Mr. Dalene, left, was introduced by Lion Don Dunning.
