Sports and fitness leaders honored
Shelter Island High School seniors Katie Siller and Michael Mundy were the 2009 recipients of Suffolk County Zone awards. Each year, the Suffolk chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance presents this award to one young woman and one young man from each Suffolk County high school. The award is based on physical education achievement, scholarship, outstanding character, physical education leadership and school-wide activities leadership. The students were honored along with 58 other Suffolk County students at a dinner on December 2.
